Get Motivated, Get Better (Part 156)

The Quote

“I enjoy the competition, that’s why I have a smile on my face” – Daley Thompson (GB Olympic Decathlon Gold Medalist)

The Lesson

Sometimes in our pursuit of success in rugby we can forget the reason we really play the game. We play because we enjoy it. If we remember that then we can get more out of the game and can take pressure off ourselves especially for those big games. We should stop to think sometimes how lucky we are to be playing the game. We should also reflect on and enjoy the competition. Competing against other players who are equally skilled and fit as ourselves and equally determined to win. There is great joy to be had by simply just competing.

The Action

I will play and train with a smile on my face. I love rugby!
